Scouting is a year around activity. While we are not as active in the
summer as we are in the rest of year, we try to have at least one fun
event each month in the summer months. We try to have a Fishing Derby
in late May, take advantage of Camp Resolute and the Family Camp Weekends in June, a short hike in July and everyone's favorte, the
Rocket Launch/Family picnic towards the end of August.

Family
camp is an opportunity for families to enjoy all that Camp Resolute has
to offer. The weekend is 24 hours long, starting with registration on
Saturday morning and ending with a closing cermony on Sunday morning.
Campers will be able to take advantage of several programs including swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, BB
shooting, archery, crafts and a campfire with live enterainment. In addition, there is usually a theme for the weekend which adds to the fun. The best part is that the camp staff does all the hard work, like cooking and cleaning! You and your family just have all the fun parts of camp!
In the past, the pack has tried to go up together. This ensures that your scouts have some friends and we get better a campsite. However, nothing is preventing you from going another weekend.
The Council offers a discount if you sign up early.

We typically hold the Rocket Launch/Family picnic at the end of August, as summer is winding down and the school and Scouting year start to pick back up again. We start launching around 10am and continue until noon or so. We break the launch pads down and adjourn to the pavillion for some lunch and tell stories about the good launches and... not so good launches. A volleyball game or two has been known to get started after lunch as well.
